Bringing The Outdoor In

Posted by Suzi | May 31, 2012

Forget the glass ceiling, these days it’s all about breaking the forth wall. Opening up spaces with light to create outdoor/indoor rooms is one of my favorite ways to improve a property- and I love this example I featured in this week’s NY Mag.

The retractable wall weighs an almighty three-and-a-half-ton! Designed by architect West Chin, decorator Roseanne Repetti has contrasted the raw-concrete wall frame with a soft feminine colour pallet and free-flowing sense of space.

I love the high ceilings and total expansive living feel. Although, I have to admit, for me, it’s begging for more texture! I feel cold just looking in there! And those showers scare me a little bit. But big tick for the elegant Travertine-stone floors (here’s hoping they are heated!)
