1950′s Notes

Posted by Suzi | February 20, 2012

While the 1950’s have been in for a while now, in a kind of Mad Men chain smoking and whisky-on-the-rocks kind of way, this season it’s all about stuffing the fags and John Jameson on the top shelf and getting out the pretty pastels. Thank Miuccia Prada- who’s S/S 2012 collection was rocking with cat-eye glasses, nifty headscarves and even a Marilyn-esque subway grate on the catwalk. Ultimate naughty/nice.

Think Chanel’s Ballerina Pink polish (pictured), the colour of marshmallows or something a housewife high on vallium would wear. Soft colour blocking, literal prints and dainty domesticity – with a little sass on the side.
